Sleepwear and Bedding Fabric May Pose Fall Risk

It’s important to be aware that if you wear sleepwear made of “slippery” fabric, and your bedspread/quilt/duvet (or even sheets) are made of “slippery” fabric, sitting on the edge of the bed may increase your risk of falling by sliding onto the floor. Some common fabrics that may be more likely to cause slipping are satin, silk, polyester, rayon and acetate.
